Many manufacturers still operate with a divide between early-stage
product development and downstream production and delivery.
Teams work to different priorities, timelines and KPIs, meaning design decisions may not reflect production realities, and production insight
often arrives too late to influence future designs.
This fragmentation is organizational, not technical. Leaders must
define how each stage contributes to quality, sustainability, traceability,
cost efficiency and speed to market, treating these as shared
responsibilities across the lifecycle.
